UB (“UB”) announced that the online poker room will be holding its final major qualifier for the 2009 Aruba Poker Classic this weekend. The Aruba 50 Seat Super Satellite will award an $8,500 Aruba Poker Classic prize package to the top 50 finishers in the $530 buy-in 50 Seat Guaranteed, scheduled for Sunday, September 13th at 17:30ET. Each prize packages includes the $5,500 buy-in to the Aruba Main Event plus $3,000 for hotel and travel expenses to the hottest poker event in the world.
On Sunday, August 30th, UB held its previous 25 Seat Aruba Guarantee. A mere fortnight later, and the online poker room is at it again. Enter this Sunday’s Aruba 50 Seat Super Satellite, and you could find yourself in Aruba from October 3rd to the 10th inclusive, and at the table next to some of the best poker players on the planet, including two household names of Hold ‘em, Phil Hellmuth and Annie Duke.

The 2008 Aruba Poker Champion took home $1 million, and the 2009 winner can expect a similar payday. On Monday, October 5th, Day 1-A of the 2009 Main Event will kick off at noon local time, with Day 1-B following on Tuesday, and a champion to be crowned on Saturday, October 10th. The winner will join the ranks of Juha Helppi, Eric Brenes, Erick Lindgren, Freddie Deeb, Devon Miller, Travis Rice, and last year’s winner Matt Brady, all previous Main Event Champions of the UB tournament.
The tournament takes place on the island of Aruba, which is located just off the coast of Venezuela in the Caribbean Sea.
