Aruban Geography 101
Friday, August 7, 2009 - ArubaPokerClassic
Aruba is a tiny island that’s just 70 square miles. It’s located in the Southern Caribbean and its mild climate, constant breezes and friendly residents make it a popular Caribbean destination for couples and families. Aruba claimed its autonomy from the Netherlands Antilles in the 1980s and is an independent entity within the Kingdom of the Netherlands.
It is one of the Lesser Antilles (part of the Netherlands Antilles). Together with Bonaire and Curacao, they form the ABC islands of the Leeward Antilles. In terms of population, Aruba sits in the middle with Curacao taking the top spot.
Aruba’s hotels are all located along the southwestern shore of the island, along a stretch of white sandy beaches that are cooled by constant breezes. Not all hotels have direct access to the beach – but the Radisson does. This paradise setting is your best bet for your stay.
